Dear Friends,

On behalf of Belmont Against Racism, thank you for being part of such a powerful and heartfelt Indigenous Peoples’ Day event. Your presence—whether attending, volunteering, or partnering—helped create a meaningful space for learning, reflection, and connection.

A special thank you to our incredible volunteers—especially our high school student volunteers. Your energy, care, and dedication made this day shine. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to community, equity, and justice.

We also want to extend our deep appreciation to the partners who helped bring this vision to life:

•    The Opening Doors Project partners, Stacey & Alastair.

•    The amazing Thea Hopkins, whose music and words were deeply moving.

•    Darnell Thigpen Williams, Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Well-Being at Belmont Public Schools, for your support and presence.

•    Our funding partners at the Somebody Else’s Child Foundation, Mass Cultural Council, and Filmmakers Collaborative.

•    Jose Batista and Brittany King from Belmont Public Schools.

•    Belmont Media Center – thank you for capturing the event.

•    The Belmont Voice – thank you for helping us get the word out.

“In the Roundhouse: A Celebration of Indigenous Culture & Community” would not have been possible without your help and dedication. Thank you for helping us create such a warm, respectful space for dialogue and shared purpose.

Last night, we came together to honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day through music, storytelling, and community. It was a time to listen, to learn, and to recognize the deep wisdom and resilience of Indigenous voices—a reminder that their traditions, history, and strength continue to shape and enrich our world today.

Let’s continue to open our hearts and minds—honoring the stories that came before us and walking the paths that lead us forward together.

With gratitude,
The BAR Events Team
